I always struggle to understand the traditional therapeutic approaches, so when I started studying Psychology I found several tools but none that spoke to my heart. For a long time I left aside my desire to be a Therapist, but I have been lucky because recently I discovered what I was missing!

 

António Damásio wrote: “The most important thing of all is that the body is the support for the mind. There could not be a mental structure if there was no body structure.” From my personal experience if you want to  to treat the mind you need to take into account the physical body too, it’s in the dance of both that we find the answer to the various emotional imbalances that we suffer. Our body is wise and it’s a recording of all the experiences we went through since the beginning of our lives, from the conception to the present moment, it is necessary to recognize this relationship and intervene holistically, treating the individual as a whole, as a unique human being.

 

In addition to my training in Psychology at the University of Porto, I continue my studies with the Institute of Biodynamic Body Psychotherapy, with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and soon I hope to be starting Yoga Therapy Training with the Mohans.

A living body is not a fixed thing but a flowing event.

Sessions

In my sessions you will find a holistic view and approach, a space in which we will work to cultivate a healthy relationship between our body and our mind. The sessions last 60 minutes and take place in person or online. If you’re curious to find out more, schedule a clarification session.
